Many curitibanos don’t know that this beautiful and relaxing place exists. It is very well hidden in the woods of Campo Largo and Bateias, and only a 40 minutes ride from Curitiba Centro. It is a beautiful and quiet place for persons who love the nature, who fancy a refreshing dip into pools with mineral water, who like to stroll around the blooming hydrangeas or who just want to spend time trekking in the native forest. My family loves to spend a day in this hidden green sanctuary once in a while!
The Ouro Fino park is situated in Bateias, next to Campo Magro and Campo Largo, in the same place as the factory where they bottle the Ouro Fino mineral water. In the park, there are several small pools and some bigger ones too, where you can swim in the very same drinkable mineral water directly from the spring. The water is pretty cold though, approx. 18 degrees C. For the more adventurous persons, there are also some waterslides to ride. The changing facilities are very clean and situated perfectly between the pools and the parking.
The park also consists of a very nice playground with different kinds of swings for all ages of kids, many covered churrasqueiras for preparing your own meals (no reservations are required nor allowed), a small bird park and some trails, both short and long ones, which take you through the native forest. You are able to see waterfalls and some wild animals too, if you are lucky. The park is very well preserved and well taken care of. All the facilities are clean and nice.
The entrance fee is 40 R$ for adults, 20 R$ for children (4-12years) and toddlers enter for free. You can stay the whole day from 7 am until 6 pm. To facilitate your stay, you get a map of the area. Usually, the place is almost empty in the mornings and only gets crowded in the afternoons during public holidays. Please notice that the park does not open on Mondays.
Please remember to bring your own snacks and food for the day since the lanchonete there seems to be open only for the workers of the factory. Hope you enjoy the park as much as my family and me do!
